About John E. Kittelson

Let me tell you a little about John E. Kittelson

I started my professional career, as an agent, with New York Life Insurance Company in May 1973 and it seems like I have been going to school ever since.  Besides the countless and continuing New York Life Schools and Seminars, I have completed many insurance, financial, retirement and charitable giving courses from The American College and The University of Northwest Missouri State majoring in Insurance.  My professional credentials include being Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC) and Registered Health & Disability Underwriter (RHU).  I have earned the distinction of "Life Member of the Councils" with New York Life.

My other formal education includes graduating from Augustana College majoring in Mathematics, The Air Force Air Command and Staff College and The National Defense University.

In the Insurance and Financial Industry, I have served in a number of positions and have been recognized for my sales achievement and quality of business.  I have served as the President of the over 300 member Sioux Falls Insurance and Financial Planning Association (NALU), Legislative Chairman of the South Dakota Life Underwriters and Vice Chairman of the National Committee on State Law & Legislation.  I am also an invited member of the University of South Dakota Foundation Planned Giving Council.  Over the years, I have served on many other local, regional and national Board of directors including the Sioux Falls Estate Planning council and the South Dakota Investment Society.

My accomplishments have been listed in Who's Who in Finance and Industry and in Who's Who in the Midwest.

Although my center of attention for the past three decades has been in insurance and financial planning, I have had a parallel career with the military serving as a Fighter Pilot, Staff Officer and Commander retiring as an Air Force Colonel.

My diverse education and professional background has given me a unique perspective on global and economic trends.  This and my use of advanced computer software is a benefit for my clients.  I have a very caring attitude to evaluate each client's needs and provide outstanding service to help them accomplish their financial goals.
